Playing Landscape is a contemplation of landscapes seen through past eyes. Starting with the view of Inwang mountain from my studio, this film follows the footsteps of ancestors who lived and worked in that area, referencing Jeong Seon’s (1676-1759) Inwang Jesaektto, accompanied with the narration of Kim Sang-Hun’s (1570-1652) travelog, ‘Yu-Suh-San-Gi’ which depicts his view of life through the mountain landscape.
유산 산수간에서 노닐다 는 작업실 앞의 인왕산을 시작으로 같은 곳에 살았던 선조들의 풍경에 대한 사색과 시선을 좇아가는 나의 여정을 담았다. 삼백년전 인왕산 자락에 살았던 겸재 정선의 그림과 청음 이상헌의 글을 통해 지금 여기의 내가, 그들의 시선이 되어 그들이 보고 경험한 풍경을 재연하고자 하였다. 그들은 무엇을 보고 있었는가.
